According to their article in the Wakefield Daily Item on Thursday May 22nd the following will be cut.

- 12 full time teaching positions will be eliminated, including all elementary school librarians. The schools will rely on parent volunteers to staff libraries and open libraries to students

- All kindergarten aides will be eliminated in both the half and full day programs.

- Class size will increase from 22 to 23 students in grades one and two, while grades three and four would see an increase in class size from 24 to 25 students per class.

- One full time elementary school adjustment counselor position will be eliminated

- Several crossing guards will be eliminated at certain posts throughout the district

I hesitate to even list it and be guilty of spreading unfounded fear by association.

They should be ashamed of themselves, each and every one of them. This is nothing more than scare tactics again. They supported bringing in a budget 2 million dollars higher than they were instructed and they refused to shed any light on how to finance their "level services" budget. No courage to ask for an override, no testicular fortitude to suggest that; they just hid behind the skirts of the PTO's and teachers union and let them do the dirty work. Our self appointed information disseminators Laurie Hunt and Charlene Chancy led the charge to increase virtually all the budgets at town meeting and they lacked the courage or will to suggest how to fund them, after all they are simply disseminating information for you to make up your own mind. The trouble is they only want to present the information that will scare people, not educate them.

The last time around we had the Penta people talking about reverse mortgages, and all kinds of other ridiculous methods to pay for your property taxes. Now we have the Laurie Hunt crew advocating a Control Board to come in and handle our finances. In a thinly veiled threat in the Item she says residents can continue to vote in an unbalanced budget until such a board steps in. Is that the plan of her and her cronies on the School Committee?

They are truly gutless, deceptive and more politically motivated than any other time in my 20 years of following local politics here in town. They have become little more than another PTO
. They are nothing about the rest of the town as long as they can get more and more money and claim it is all for the children.

So now they release this as a way to put a gun to your head and tell you to give them the 2 million dollars, from somewhere, they don't care where. They don't care if you cut it from the Police and Fire or the DPW, just shut up and give it to them.

I have a better idea.

Tell them to stick it where the sun don't shine and vote NO on Tuesday.
